Jumeirah Grand Mosque

It is one of the beautiful mosques in UAE and among the must-visit places during your Dubai Tour.

Built exactly on lines of Cairo’s Al Azhar Mosque, the Jumeirah Mosque is one of the most attractive and biggest mosques in Dubai. The construction of the mosque began in 1976 and was completed in 1979. The Jumeirah Grand Mosque was a gift from the Late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the former Ruler of Dubai and father of the current Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It is said that the Jumeirah Mosque is the most photographed mosque in all of Dubai.

Jumeirah Mosque is an excellent example of the medieval Fatimid style of architecture. Made of carved white stone, the mosque is adorned with two minarets displaying intricate stonework. The large central dome of the mosque is surrounded by four smaller domes, each adorned with intricate stone carvings. Inside, the serene space is decorated in soothing tones of apricot, cream and duck-egg blue, with brass lanterns illuminating the central prayer hall and surrounding nooks. Its detailed architecture and design are even more glorified when lit up in the evening.
